The Holy Scriptures
We believe that the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the verbally (word-by-word) inspired and inerrant Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, without error in the original writings, infallible and God-breathed (Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:19-21).
The Trinity
We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – co-eternal in being, identical in nature, equal in power and glory, and having the same characteristics and perfections (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16, 17; 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
The Person and Work of God the Father
We believe that God the Father sovereignly directs and controls all things according to His perfect purpose and pleasure. He answers our prayers, forgives our sins, disciplines us in love, and is the giver of every good and perfect gift (John 16:23; Ephesians 1:3-14; Hebrews 12:5-10; James 1:17; 1 John 1:9).
The Person and Work of God the Son
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men (Luke 1:35; John 1:1,2,14).
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption from the penalty of sin through His death on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice, and that our justification is verified by His literal physical resurrection from the dead (Romans 3:22-26; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 1 Peter 2:24).
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He fulfills the ministry of High Priest, Intercessor and Advocate (Acts 1:9-11; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25 and 9:24; 1 John 2:1,2).
The Person and Work of God the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, spiritually baptizing all true believers into the Body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption (John 16:8-14; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; 2 Corinthians 1:21,22; Ephesians 1:13, 14).
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Divine Teacher who guides believers into all truth, and that it is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be filled with the Spirit by yielding to His control and obeying His Word (John 16:13; Ephesians 5:18; 1 John 2:20, 27).
We believe that the Holy Spirit sovereignly assigns spiritual gifts to believers, which are to be used within the local church for the purpose of strengthening the Body of Christ (Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:7,11; Ephesians 4:7-12). It is our understanding that historically, supernatural sign gifts were given to authenticate to the Jews the fact that the apostles were God’s true spokesmen (Acts 2:1-11, 22, 36; 1 Corinthians 14:20-23; 2 Corinthians 12:12) but then diminished in importance once the authority of the new Testament Scriptures became established in the churches (1 Peter 4:10-11; Hebrews 2:3,4). This position does not weaken our beliefs that God remains sovereign and all-powerful and can provide bodily healing in answer to prayer (James 5:13-16).
The Creation, Fall and Total Depravity of Man
We accept the Genesis account of creation and believe that man came by direct creation of God and not by evolution. We also believe that man, in creation, was made in the image of God, and that in Adam’s sin the entire human race fell from innocence, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. Therefore, every person is born totally depraved, and of himself, is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition (Genesis 1:27, 2:22, 3:6, 6:5; Romans 3:23, 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3,12).
Salvation
We believe that eternal life is the gift of God brought to man by God’s grace and not by man’s works. Salvation is received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ trusting that His precious blood, which was shed on Calvary, is the adequate payment for the forgiveness of our sins. This gift of God is the new birth in Christ Jesus (John 1:12, 3:3; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8, 9; 1 Peter 1:18, 19).
We believe that those who are born again are kept eternally secure by God’s power and are thus adopted into God’s family forever (John 6:37-40, 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 29-39; 1 Corinthians 1:4-8; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Peter 1:5).
We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word and the inner testimony of God’s Spirit (Romans 8:16; 1 John 5:11-13). However, we are clearly forbidden by Scripture to use our assurance as an excuse to disobey God’s commands (Romans 13:13, 14; Galatians 5:13; Titus 2:11-15).
The Christian Life
We believe that every saved person possesses two natures, an old (carnal) nature and a new (spiritual) nature. God enables us to enjoy a life of victory of the new nature over the old nature through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. However, to claim eradication of the old nature in this life is unscriptural (Romans 6:13, 8:12, 13; 1 Corinthians 10:13; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 4:22-24; Colossians 3:10; 1 Peter 1:14-16; 1 John 1:8-10).
We believe that every saved person should live in such a manner so as not to bring reproach upon his Savior and Lord, and that separation from all religious apostasy, as well as separation from all sinful pleasures, practices and associations is commanded of God (2 Corinthians 6:14, 7:1; 1 John 2:15-17).
We believe that each Christian should seek to obey the Great Commission of Christ (Matthew 28:19-20) by doing all he can to help proclaim the gospel of salvation to all mankind (Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:19-20; 1 Peter 3:15).
The Church
We believe the Church, which is the Body and Bride of Christ, consists of all those in this present dispensation who truly trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior and God (1 Corinthians 12:12, 13; Ephesians 5:25; Colossians 1:18). We believe in the dispensational view of Bible interpretation, which holds that it is proper to distinguish between God’s dealings with Israel and the Church (Acts 2:41, 42 and 18:8; 1 Corinthians 10:32, 11:23-26).
We believe in the autonomy of the local church, which means that it is to remain free from any external authority or denominational control (Acts 13:1-4, 14:27, 15:19-31, 20:17, 28-32; 1 Corinthians 1:2, 3:9, 12:12,13, 27; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5; 1 Peter 5:1-4). This church shall have no affiliation with the National and/or World Council of Churches, or any other group, which holds to or agrees with their unbiblical ecumenical goals or doctrines (2 Timothy 3:1-5; 2 John 9-11).
Angels and Satan
We believe that God created an innumerable company of spiritual beings, known as angels, to serve and glorify God (Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 1:14; Revelation 5:11-12). We further believe that Satan, who was the highest angel in rank, willfully rebelled against God through pride and became “the devil”. Satan is the originator of sin who led our first parents into sin and who now rules as “the god of this world”. A large number of angels followed Satan in opposing God, thus becoming demons. Both the devil and his demons will ultimately suffer eternal punishment in the lake of fire (Genesis 3:1-19; Ezekiel 28:11-19; Matthew 25:41; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Hebrews 6:10-18).
Future Things
We believe in the “Blessed Hope”, the personal, imminent, pre-tribulational and pre-millennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones. We also believe in His subsequent return to earth with His saints to establish His 1000-year reign on earth [the millennium] (Daniel 9:24-27; Zechariah 14:4-11; 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 4:13-18, 5:9; Revelation 3:10, 19:11-16, 20:1-6).
We believe that the souls of the redeemed area, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, where in conscious bliss they await the first resurrection, when spirit, soul and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the lord (Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23, 3:21; 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17; Revelation 20:4-6).
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all mankind, the saved, to eternal life and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:46; John 5:28, 29, 11:25, 26; Revelation 20:5, 6, 12, 13).
We believe that the souls of unbelievers remain after death in conscious misery until the second resurrection, when with soul and body reunited they shall appear at the Great White Throne of Judgment, and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated, but to suffer everlasting conscious punishment because of their rejection of God’s revelation and grace in Christ (Matthew 25:41-46; Luke 16:19-26; John 3:18, 36; Revelation 20:11-15).
